Family Travels Puerto Rico

We have visited Puerto Rico five times. The first time was a port of call on a family cruise....so we did the touristy stuff and visited the old fort. On our third trip, we hired a private guide through Shoretrips.com and took a trip to the rainforest During one of our trips , the kids completed the certification dives in Puerto Rico and got certified in PADI We always extend our cruise vacations with a night or two at the Embassy Suites.

Embassy Suites 8000 Tartak Street, Isla Verde Carolina, Puerto Rico 00979 Tel: +1-787-791-0505 Fax: +1-787-791-7776 www.embassysuites.com We love this hotel...and it is ideally suited for families Each room is a suite...we requested the suite with two double beds in the back and the sofa folds out. It has a small table and chairs for lunchs/dinners...and has a small refrig. A full breakfast is included....and there is a manger's reception each day with free drinks and snacks. The hotel is beautiful...with an open atrium on the ground floors with breakfast dining and even an Outback restaurant. The pool is really wonderful and it is only a few blocks to the beach, a mini mart and some good restuarants.

Isla Verde Close to the heart of San Juan Beautiful Beaches. This is the place to stay Near the hotel there is a grocery store and a small shopping center with a couple places to eat. We never miss Mi Casita
The Views are incredible on a nice day

We spent a day in the El Yunque Rainforest Bring along a rain poncho as it is damp and drippy--it is a rainforest. (our guide was kind enough to provide them) Start with the museum and exhibits and then find a good walking trail and explore

The Beach near our hotel You can rent chairs and umbrellas.
Erica finds a sand dollar
Jet Ski rentals available. We paid for an half of hour and the kids took turns

PUERTO RICO

Relaxing at the cocktail reception before dinner at Outback (located in the hotel) There is also a small casino

El Morro Fort In 2003, We visited as part of a shore walked to the fort. It is a long walk and slightly uphill There is a local bus also
Scuba Dogs was an awesome outfit for diving. Dad was already certified and his dream was to get the kids certified to have scuba buddies to share the love of diving and the adventures. The kids started their paperwork at home and completed their dives on the cruise. Scuba Dogs provided personal service and the smiles to make this a wonderful experience for everyone
