Family Travels
Rothenburg
This is the best of the best...when it comes to
cute medieval towns.

We visited Rothenburg during a day trip in 1990
and planned to return.
We did so with our children in 2002...it is a
wonderful town to explore with children.

The crowds are crazy during the day.  Plan on
staying here at least two nights to enjoy the early
morning peacefulness and the evening fun
...especially the Night Watchman's Tour.
Things to Do -- Places to See
Walk the Ramparts
Pretend you are defending the town
Punishment Museum

Learn about thumbscrews,
chasity belts, spiked chairs, the
rack...all sorts of instruments of
punishment and torture.

Warning...our little girl, then age 6
turned pale, almost fainted, then
had a panic attack....
Boy, Did we feel like bad parents.
Visit the Bakeries and Go Shopping.
Don't forget to visit Kathe Wohlfahrt's Christmas Shop
We bought the kids some Christmas Ornaments.
One of the more interesting tours that
we have taken...Don't miss the Night
Watchman's Tour ...Daily at 8:00pm
Visit St. Jakob's Church and see the
14th Century altar carving
Early in the morning, when the
mist was still hugging the ground,
we went for a walk in the old castle
gardens.  No one else was
around...just our family in the
most incredible settings.

Amanda started to shake and turn
pale...so I teased her and said,
"Stretch, stretch" and
Amanda passed out.
Dad had to take her outside.
