Family Travels
Salzburg
Salzburg is one of our favorite cities.
We visited in 1990 and loved it.  So it was on top of our list to
do again with the children.

Plan on spending at least three or four days here.
There is so much to see and do.
You can roam the streets of old town and not get lost.
Must Sees
Visit Mozart's Birthplace
The Hohensalburg Fortress and its Museum
The Sound of Music Tour
You must visit Hellbrunn Palace

Other sights The Residenze, the Cathedral, The Festival
Concert Hall etc, St. Peter's Cemetery...are great fillers
but don't miss
The town market, a picnic on the river,
trying one of the local sausage stands
playing in the Mirabell Gardens,
Having dessert--the Salzburfer Nockerl--at Stiftskeller St.
Peter
Visiting the fun beer hall (even with kids)
Augustiner Braustubl.

some rooms
The museums are good for kids
Hohensalzburg Fortress

food stalls...you go around and pick
up the food you want and join the

The Market

We really enjoyed the market.  We would give the

strawberries, carrots, pretzels and sausages from
the open air  stands.
